Boundaries run southeast of Interstate 85 near 400, the Fulton/DeKalb County line, Peachtree Creek/I-85 on the west and Piedmont Road on the south. Small commercial areas are west of I Interstate 85 in Martin Manor. Just south is the Morningside-Lenox Park neighborhood and to the east is North Druid Hills.

Neighborhood Activities
Martin Manor is graced by several community amenities. The trail plans in Martin Manor include 31 miles along the South Fork and its tributaries. The Meadow Loop, Cedar Chase, and Cheshire Farm Trails provide miles of outdoor enrichment. Cedar Chase Trail curves underneath Interstate 85 meeting the convergence of the North and South Forks to Peachtree Creek. Residents keep up a beautiful community garden.
In addition, under the leadership of the Lindridge Martin Manor Neighborhood Association (LMMNA), the community is working to develop the new Armand Park. It will add more green space, playgrounds, and connections to the trail system. In the offing is light rail service to Emory University via the Clifton Corridor Transit.
Neighborhood History
In 1838 Capt. Cheshire built a large home. It sat on a hill overlooking Peachtree Creek and his vast Atlanta real estate holdings on the west side. Benjamin Plaster owned adjoining land. Children used to hunt for remnants of the Civil War in the area.
In the 1940s, BA Martin developed Martin Manor to provide affordable housing for young families and veterans. North of Martin Manor, William Holman developed Lindridge. Armand Heights came next. Later, Interstate 85 and Buford Highway construction divided up these neighborhoods.
Neighborhood Schools
Atlanta Public School District serves students living here. The schools participate in the International Baccalaureate Curriculum. Garden Hills Elementary, Sutton Middle School, and North Atlanta High School are among the top performing schools.
