Cabbagetown also provides a good intown location. It sits east of Oakland Cemetery and west of Pearl Street SE and south of Georgia Railroad tracks and north of Memorial Drive.
Neighborhood Activities
Ansley Park Civic Association (APCA) organizes membership (dues $75 per year) and maintains and improves the quality of life within Ansley Park. The organization maintains green spaces, parks, and playgrounds. There is a neighborhood Security Patrol (dues $265-$315 annually).
The association publishes The Ansleyphile, the Ansley Park E-news and other communications. In addition, the organization hosts major neighborhood social events and activities, meetings, and advocacy initiatives. Holiday Caroling Party, Neighborhood Diners, Restaurant Travelers, “And Evening With…” Series, and High Museum Tours are favorites.
Neighborhood History
Edwin P. Ansley, real estate developer, began selling lots in 1905. He designed expansive curvilinear streets to accommodate the then-new automobile. Ansley Park Historic District includes homes built between 1904 and 1913 on the north side of downtown Atlanta. It is west of Piedmont Park, between Piedmont Avenue and Peachtree Street. The Georgia governor’s mansion remained in Ansley Park for decades. New homes contributed to the prestigious neighborhood until the 1930s.
Ansley Park remained a popular subdivision even as suburban communities drew residents away from Downtown. Since the 1960s, the efforts of the Ansley Park Civic Association have sustained a harmonious vision of this intown oasis.
Neighborhood Schools
Schools Serving Ansley Park Homes: Students are served by the Atlanta Public Schools at Morningside Elementary School, Inman Middle School, and Henry W. Grady High School. Several colleges and universities are in the vicinity.

From South downtown Atlanta, go east on Memorial Drive SE past the Oakland Cemetery, located to the left is Cabbagetown.
